ANIMAL FARM HAS COME TO AMERICA
My View From Inside The Turret
In George Orwell’s 1945 novel “Animal Farm,” the farm animals unite to overthrow the farmer and his wife because they believe the humans have treated them unjustly. To persuade the group that the Pigs’ leadership would be fairer, the Pigs paint their guiding commandments on the barn wall at the start of their movement.
Original Commandments:
1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
3. No animal shall wear clothes.
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
7. All animals are equal.
For those who have not read Animal Farm since high school, recall that in the end the PIGS, now the undisputed “oligarchs” of the farm had violated all seven of their original commandments replacing the Seven Commandments with a single phrase:
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
In 1945 George Orwells message was clear as we witnessed the post war expansion of the Soviet Empire and the misery and hardship being brought to hundreds of millions across the world …
… it all starts out change the system but in the end it comes back to a systems of the masters and the workers with the Masters being MORE EQUAL than the workers. There is not a “BOOMER” alive today who has not seen this for themselves wether or not you agreed with it – the list is long and I will not repeat it here but we all know where socialism and communism has failed to deliver its basic promise “All animals are equal”.
The recent primary elections in New York City marked a pivotal moment for the political landscape in America, particularly for socialist candidates who demonstrated significant electoral success. This shift indicates a growing acceptance of democratic socialism within the Democratic Party, especially among younger voters and those disillusioned with traditional political paradigms.
In the June 23, 2026, Democratic primary elections, several candidates aligned with democratic socialist principles triumphed, signaling a potential shift in the party’s future direction. The results were emblematic of a broader movement that has been gaining momentum in urban areas across the United States, where issues such as income inequality, affordable housing, and healthcare are at the forefront of voters’ concerns.
Among the notable successes was Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has positioned himself as a leading figure in the democratic socialist movement. His endorsement of candidates who share his vision for a more equitable society … “ALL ANIMAL ARE EQUAL” … played a crucial role in their victories.
For instance, Brad Lander’s unseating of incumbent Dan Goldman, a Progressive Democrat who is also Jewish in a closely watched congressional district was a significant upset, demonstrating that voters are increasingly willing to challenge established incumbents in favor of far-left wing alternatives.
Additionally, candidates like Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez emerged victorious, further solidifying the influence of socialist ideologies in the city’s political fabric. But now its not just New York … it’s the United States Congress both the House and the Senate and the remaining primary season does not bode well for those Democrats who support a party of center-left politics that can benefit the entire electorate.
The promise is always the same … “All animals are equal” – till they are not. Remember the words of Ronald Reagan: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”
